Apartment Therapy ..

I have an unhealthy obsession with the blog Apartment Therapy. Do you follow it too? If you don't, I fully suggest you pop on over for a squiz after you have finished up here - as if I was going to suggest that you go there now? :)

Things have been busy. My blogging (as usual) infrequent, despite my best intentions and to top it all off, it is nearly the end of September. How did that happen?

Things at the shanty are going well. No progress in terms of projects really, just small stuff, but I am loving our little bit of Australia. Our Jacaranda Tree is beginning to flower too, which makes me oh so happy. Always looking for inspiration and intent on maintaining the character of our home without turning it into a modern, charmless 'once was' Queenslander, I came across these pictures on Apartment Therapy this morning and found myself squealing with delight.
These photos are of an Edwardian terrace house in Edinburgh, dating back to 1910.
The owners of this terrace house have maintained so much of the original character, incorporating just the right amount of modern day gorgeousness and charm. This is absolutely the look I am after in our house, particularly the kitchen; except on half the scale and without the Aga or the Smeg fridge. Seriously, imagine having an Aga oven and a Smeg fridge! Be still me heart ...
I will apologise in advance for the size of the photos. I had difficulties pasting them into the boarders set on my blog. In the meantime enjoy...
